Welcoming Mary Sia Foyah – Board Member
Mary Sia Foyah is a Sierra Leonean and a media practitioner with an extensive experience that spans over five years since her student days at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.
She first developed a passion for journalism while acquiring her BA (Hons) in Mass Communication at Fourah Bay College. Her interpersonal communication and investigative skills were spotted by renowned lecturers that encouraged her to pursue a career in journalism, a decision she lives to cherish.
She currently works as the Managing Director and Editor of Sierra Leone Business Journal .
Mary was the news editor at Afri Radio, guest writer for Sierraeye Magazine and guest lecturer at the Mass Communication’s Department at Fourah Bay College.
She is an activist who supports different organizations that champion female empowerment and child welfare by broadcasting their stories and amplifying their impact through written publications using digital and print media. She has written expository humanitarian articles on the accountability and growth of public institutions.
As an eloquent speaker, Mary has delivered public lectures at different community-based and child welfare organizations across Sierra Leone. She once served as a commissioner for the Mass Communication Students Association Constitutional Review Committee in 2016.
